![]() ![]() Some of you may remember Shelby, my sister's Sheltie. I made a thread about him in the health forum. He had just been dx with cancer. Well, it finally got the better of poor Shelby. He got weaker, stopped eating and just wasn't having a good time at all, so today she took him in to say her final "good-bye." She's very sad. She really loved that dog and gave him a wonderful, loving home. He was almost 13. It's always so hard, especially at first till the sharpness wears off a little bit. R.I.P. Shelby sweet boy.

Cancer is such a heartbreaking disease. Please tell your sister we're thinking of her and send our condolences.

Thank you very much guys. I'll tell her. Cancer just sucks, no question about it. She has a good attitude though and I think quite accepting. She is grateful for the time she had with him, although it wasn't too long since she got him as an adult. But she soooo appreciated him, was very bonded to him. She also lost her husband to prostate cancer several years ago. So, she's had her fill of that.
I appreciate your sympathy. I loved that little dog too. And I know Gretchen will appreciate your kind words. Thank you everyone.

Shelby's free of his old body now. He was loved and I'm glad he and your sister found each other for the time he had with her. Please tell Gretchen we are thinking of her now. So sorry too for your loss. You loved Shelby too.

Oh please tell your sister I'm so sorry to hear about Shelby. It's so hard when we have to say goodbye to the ones we love. Shelby knew how much he was loved and cared for. He will always live forever in her heart and memories.
