I came home tonight and Emmy was dead in her cage. Her eye looked funny, there was a white ring around it. Emmy was fine yesterday. She gave no indication of being ill (although guineas pigs can hide illness very well). She ate and drank and acted normally. My mom theorizes that maybe it was a stroke or something.
Emmy was a young piggy, I guestimate maybe 1-1/2 to 2 years old. I got her from the pound and I only had her a year. I just hope she didn't go through a lot of pain before she died. Emmy shared a cage with Kanga, and Kanga appears to be normal. She let out a few sad noises when we removed Emmy's body from the cage.
I'm in shock right now from the suddeness of Emmy's departure. I will miss you Emmy. You were a good piggy.
