How much does a rock like that run in your country if i may ask? Your friend might be interested in seeing some of mine..i have posted them here a quite a few threads down..i will look up the address. here it is..http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3039 i usually do rabbits and frogs because they seem to be very popular..i never thought to paint one like your friend has..i have a waiting list for turtles..and make lizards as well as some cats. each week from spring to fall i take them to the city market to make extra grocery money. They sell very quickly. I do the little ones for 5 dollars and it goes up from there, the most i have made was a hundred. i try to find rocks that have ridges and bumps that make the shape more believable...your friend managed to make the dog look just great without a big bump for the head. I am very impressed! i also paint them on slabs of rock..like a canvas.
this is how i learned to paint..i never could afford to buy paint and brushes which in a way was good because i find honed my pencil/drawing skills. Finally i started with the bells and rocks doing little pieces and charging little prices. I told myself i was getting paid to practice...this is where it all started

Hey, your drawing very nice. I mean both on the pot and on the stone. I hv some of her stone painting pictures here to share with u... she charge the portrait RM35 and the stone painting RM25 each. She told me she pick this art painting from oversea.... I like art too.. but i cant draw well...
anyway, may I know which country are u from ? (sorry i m poor in geography) hehehe she did those painting for me free as a gift... she told me the best selling stone painting is cats... i think u should try to paint more animals.. i saw her elephant painting very cute.. and u know we chinese got the 12 zodiac... so she will draw this .. is like a collection.. when ppl purchase they buy 12 stone for a gift to friend.. is that good idea?
