Anyone have a mule? Just curious--a friend just bought one, and I was struck by how similar he is to the horses and yet, once you focus, it's immediately obvious he's not a horse.

we had one for awhile they are neat little (ok not so little but little for the ranch) creatures. Ours loved to follow you EVERYwhere. He even learned to open the gates lol. And would go out with me when i herded the cattle. I miss him a little lol. Hes also one of the few hoved animals that kicked me.

I've had a few different mules in our barn (only 1 right now), and the biggest difference that I've seen has been that they take a while to warm up to people. Most of the horses I've met and owned will willingly go say hi to anyone, and the mules seem to be more comfortable waiting at a distance until they know you.

My inlaws have a donkey and horses... they would like a mule at some point.
