Does anyone in here think dogs remember litter mates from 5 yrs ago? cuz this one lady wanting to adopt mich. has his littermate and wants to abopt him becasue of that

they werent raised in them tho and he hasnt seen him for at least 4 yrs

I think the dog could have a VERY slight recolection of the scent of his brother, but I don't think it would actually remember him.

we really dont think that should be a reason to adopt him but we might do foster to adopt

I agree with you. I don't think you should let them adopt just because they have his brother, but the foster to adopt sounds like a good idea!!
If they turn out to be good dog parents and the two dogs get along then the foster will get a good home.

I have always thought that dogs with their very sensitive noses can pick up DNA scents of their past. May not remember, but know there's a connection to them.

Mary never seems to recognize her sister that my brother has..when they do get together they raise hackles like strangers...i was away from Jim for a year (he made me so angry i told him i was taking my toys and going home..and didn't speak to him for a year..anyway when we did get back together Mary saw Garg for the first time and they acted as strangers...so that is two examples that make me think no..that they dont remember. i can only base my opinions on what i have seen.
