I have loved dogs my entire life, and I've never came across a dog that I really just H A T E D... until now.

My aunt bought a puppy from this woman 2.5 years ago. She got a female, black miniature poodle... her "baby". The dog won't "come" and if you bend over to pet the thing it runs off because it doesn't want to be picked up. All it knows how to do is spin around in circles and be a complete mess. I've tried working with her on obedience while at their house... this dog is hopeless. Normally I don't give up, but she's stupid. I personally think the dog is ugly, but I don't have a big thing for poodles anyway... my few experiences with them have all turned out negative.

Anyways, check out the breeder’s website. Tell me what you think. I was so interested to see how much my aunt spent on this worthless dog that I e-mailed her, asking for prices. I have a feeling this is going to be hilarious!

Looks like your typical backyard breeder who found out how to make a website. Its pretty obvious for nothing else but clicking on "Sire/Dams"...... and then seeing all the bitches they have. First off, your more respectible breeders would maybe have them listed as " Males" or "bitches/females"... why is Sire/Dam listed if breeding is not the MOST important thing on thier minds?

Honestly, I haven't looked at her site very much... but when I read this, I couldn't believe it! THAT IS AWFUL! I guess her mind SADLY says: "It's ALL about the $$$$$"

the "breeder" doesnt deserve to be called such.
unfortunatly your aunts dog is NOT stupid its just from obviously bad breeding and a situation where it didnt get the oportunity to be a normal healthy happy puppy!

infact poodles should e the EXACT opposite of stupid, they are by breed standard eager to please and VERY inteligent.
Now obviously your frustrated with this dog but you wont make too many frineds by calling it stupid and ugly, you may not like poodles but there anything but ugly for one, and theres no such thing as a stupid dog.
infact most toy breeds will cower or run away when a human bends over them, rember your MUCH bigger than the poor little dog is. unfortunatly puppies from breeders like this often have ehavioural and learning problems due to improper early socilization during those critical first weeks.
my suggestion is to find someone who understands the needs of undersocilized small breeds to work with the dog, and warn anyone you can about this so called breeder.

Hi there,
Doesn't look like the best breeder in the world that your aunt got her dog from, but that aside, the little dog is most likely not stupid. Yes bad breeder, but that doesn't equal stupid dog. Calling a dog like this stupid is like calling a child who hasn't yet be taught to read, stupid because he/she can't read yet - its unfair. Small and toy breeds often do require different training techniques than medium to large breeds. This dog sounds like the important socialization process has been missed, and may be why she is showing fear and not coming to people. However, lack of proper training can make the dog respond opposite to what you want, especially the come command.
Gentle, slow and understanding training is what this little dog needs to reach her potential. Use a different work other than come, which she has probably already habituated to. Use the word "Here" instead. Start over, as though she was a puppy and doesn't know anything. Don't use any corrections, just pure motivation with food or a favorite toy. Patience is the key here, and consistancy. Try not to tower over her, and get down on her level during training. Poodles, by nature, are very intellegent dogs, with a capacity to learn what ever you want to teach them.
Take your time, and have fun training her, give her the opportunity to show you how smart she can really be! Good luck!
