Default Ole, Roy

Hi, One of my friends feeds his dog Ole, Roy dog food. I was wondering how good of a brand this is. I'm most likely going with Innova or if its too hard to get and or expensive, nutro natrual.

Ol' Roy is . . . well, there just aren't words to describe how awful that stuff is! Nutro is better, but not even in the same league with Innova, and really isn't more economical as you have to feed a significant amount more.

I bought a box of Nutro brand treats once and threw them away before I let the dogs eat them . . .

I got the words renee..OLD FARTS! When we were down while i had pneumonia..a church donated us 50 lbs of the stuff..we had to wonder if you could die from concentrated dog farts...it was soooooooooooooooooooo bad! Most of it is waste so your dog will have 3 times the bowel movements as well.

Ole Roy is a private label brand for Walmart. They just buy low quality food from some manufacturer and slap their storebrand name on it and only sell it a Walmart. Beware!

Ol' Roy is one of the worst possible things you can feed a dog. To me it's nothing better than sawdust sprayed with rancid "vitamin forified" fat. I'd rather feed my dogs a diet of pickles and mountain dew.

I will have to confess that I bought a bag of Ol' Roy dog biscuits once. I thought a couple of biscuits every few days couldn't hurt, could it??

Probably not, EliN. I threw the Nutro biscuits out because I just felt like I'd been scammed by the packaging.

Yeah Renee, I know. I'm in marketing and know all they're tricks to the trade. Luckily I'm in healthcare and we've got the FDA breathing down our back constantly -- not that that always helps with other companies, but we're an ethical company which gives me peace. Take the dog food "Beneful" for instance. Making it seem so darn healthy with all their packaging and advertising. Yet, it's one of the worst, I've heard.

I tried to feed Shelby Beneful once...she wouldn't eat it. It must've tasted horrible. Ol' Roy is hideous, to the point of pickles and mountain dew probably being healthier. Nutro is better, but, not that great. If you can't feed Innova, try for Canidae.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather let my dogs eat garbage than Ol' Roy...
