Default OMG. I can't beleive it.

Ok, I was looking at the classified ads at the back of the Dogfancy magazine looking for bad ads. (That us just something I do. I think it is fun and I get more practice on recignizing bad breeders by their ads.) Anyway, I was disgusted to read this:

CITY SLICKERS RANCH
Rare Tiny Teacups/Mini/toy
Austrailan Shepherds from champion bloodlines!
Teacups in picture matured under 10 pounds.
Adult hip and eye clearances. Health Guarantee.

OMG! Teacup Aussies!!!! How in the freaken HECK can a 10lb dog herd and defend a flock of cows or sheep!! I am disgusted!

It says that to advertize, the dogs have to fit the breed standard (i.e. no White Dobes, not particolor Poodles, no Red Rotties, etc.)
Would an Mini Aussie under ten pounds not fit the breed standard?

OMG! That's disgusting...I wonder what the heck they are crossing those dogs with to make them stunted like that?! Thank god my subscription ran out a couple of years ago. Why the heck would a magazine devoted to dogs, and the care of dogs, support a BYB like that?!

There should be a weight range on Aussies, therefore, you shouldn't be able to show an Aussie that was under ten pounds.

Ok, maybe I'm just stupid, but this doesn't look like an Aussie to me It looks like a Norwich Terrier, yet, when I searched on Australian Terrier, this is the picture that came up:

Ok, now I'm frusterated. I was looking at the Mini Aussies breed club for its standard, and it says that the dogs shouldn't be smaller than 14'' at the withers. But the thing is, in the advertisment listed above, they don't talk directly about the size, just the weight (under 10lbs) and there isn't a set weight for the Mini Aussies. Ugh. So their isn't anything technically wrong with it. (Aside from the fact that the pups pictured look more like Shelties. ) Here are the people's website that had the ad: www.cityslickersranch.com

An Australian Terrier is a cross between a Silky and a Yorkie, I do believe. Here are some pictures to clear things up.
