I'm pretty much smitten by whichever one I'm looking at at any given time.

The one I never want to be without, whatever other kinds of dog I may have though is a German Shepherd.

I always liked GSDs when I was a kid and never had a dog. I guess with Nanook I get to have a real taste. Although she seems to have more husky in her.

As much as I love goldens as a package, I must admit that there's nothing more beautiful to look at than a well bred GS with alert ears, a smile, and bright loving eyes. ( don't tell Chip!!)

I absolutely love the Shepherds. I was at my daughter's soccer game just this past weekend when someone on the oppisite team brought a Shepherd which was absolutely gorgeous! I almost fell out of my chair drooling! I looked at Tony and said, 'that's my next dog' he looked at me and rolled his eyes and said 'yeah right, not in my lifetime' I think he still has flashbacks from when we had my brothers dog for a month. He's not too keen on large dogs. I grew up with Shepherds and would love to be owned by one again. hooo hummmm one of these days ... he'll give in.

A German Shepherd is a medium sized dog, so you can have your GSD, Avenlee! I thought they were large dogs, too, back before I actually HAD large dogs, lol!

I love a Standard Poodle's posture too and that gait. That's another thing I love to watch....various gaits, or ways of going. And I love Arabian horses. That's probably part of why I love Dobermans. They remind me of Arabians...how they prance around and toss their heads, stop short when they're playing and act like general goof balls, but yet, so very extra intelligent....and soooo intensly into their people.

We've all heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think that each breed has something incredibly beautiful to contribute to dogs on a whole. But I am still a softey for the giant breed dogs. Whenever I see a giant dog I always stand back in awe!
