Thanks Skyboxer, I actually read the entire article this morning. It was very nice! Something I'd have loved to have had around for my mother 15 to 20 yrs ago, whenever she said, "So when are you going to get a real job?" Lol. I can't imagine doing anything else for a living. It's truly the most rewarding career for me.

I imagine it must be Otch! Though I doubt I will ever be in the position to have the time or money to throw aside my current work and concentrate on gaining the knowledge and experience required to be a certified dog trainer, I would dearly love to do so.
I imagine you bring joy and understanding to many skin/fur families and in the process probably save dogs lives too.

I'm hoping that I can do something like that one day for my future clients.

That was a great story...of course I want to know what happened to Whip when the old man passed..
I, like otch1, have never been more fulfilled doing anything else. I know I'll be training dogs until my working days are over...when I'm in my 90's. Some days it feels strange being paid to do something that I LOVE so much. Thanks for the post sky..

I have no doubt that you will Zoom!! It was difficult for me to quit my day job at first, Skyeboxer and be willing to work for another trainer full time for much less than I was then making, but once I started training, there was no going back! Lol

Sniff, sniff. That's really touching.

Nice!! I was a personnel consultant for a company, Mon. thru Fri. and teaching obedience classes several nights a week, competing or doing clinic/seminars on weekends. Never saw my daughter. Decided the day job had to go so I could train during the day for a local school and go back to working for a vet clinic part-time! Shakey for 6 weeks or so then everything took off. Busier than I'd imagined during day, so eventually plenty of uninterupted time for daughter at night!
