Default Removing medical tape...as painlessly as possible

dodger had his rear dewclaws removed and today the medical tape/bandaging comes off...but hes a screamer and a wigler when it comes to the ouchies...
i want to make it as painless as possible for him and as easy as possible for me.

i know there are people on here that have cropped dogs and of course the taping they use is generally the same thing.

Ive hear rubbing alcohol on the tape will help break down the sticky, is that true?!
any suggestions/tips and tricks would be greatly apreciated...the area was shaved but the tape is still stuck to leg hair....
thanks guys!

If the area is allowed to get wet, then i would try and soak in warm water for a few minutes......it should make it alot easier to slowly peel the tape off

i asked the vet and they said to do it at home...
hes at the vet next sat for his stitch removal, i read ear tapers use a little rubbing alcohol on the tape to soften the clue so ill try it, if not ill just stop by tomorrow and have them do it...im not gonna traumatize my poor boy...

I just wondered if anyone here had any tricks cause its the exact same tape they use for ear taping...and i figured anyone familiar with taping might have some ideas...

I once took my Spanish grey into the vet - I was supposed to remove tape (covering stiches on her belly following an op) and she was in agony as I carefully tried to pick it off.

At the vets - only one way - quickly - sharply - a yelp and its done. But the belly is a reasonably flat/straight area - personally I'd check with the vet if its wrapped around (they put it on, right?)... perhaps they can cut it so that it can come off in a couple of pieces quickly?

the tape is off...

i soaked a cotton pad in rubbing alcohol and them let it sit on the tape for about 5 minutes, it must have either softend or broken down the glue because the tape was NOT removable before hand yet after the alcohol it came off fairly easy...it only pulled on a hair once and i just added a little more alcohol and let it sit on the tape for another minute...the insicions look real good, theres a little dried blood but otherwise everythign looks good! hes currently glaring at me from under the table for holding him still, but it realy ddint hurt him like i thought it might...
so for future, if needed soak the tape in rubbing or isopropic alcohol and it should peel right off...
