Default Grooming Maddie and some other random *pics*

Today we went for a walk in the park, and it was a bit more muddy than I had originally anticipated. The dogs were a disaster lol
So, I had to bath all of them. Since I was disappointed I didn't take any pics to share from our walk, I decided to give you a little before and after show.
Maddie is very much the field dog cocker's are supposed to be. Now, someone please tell me why they have so much pretty hair? yikes...
It took about 5hrs start to finish... *whew*

Nope, she didn't get to go swimming. Its all mud and debre! And her hair instantly curls with it

I had to rinse for nearly 20mins before her legs were manageable to where I could think about using shampoo

After I shampooed and rinsed I knew that I was going to have to do it again...

(((more comming...)))

Finally she was clean... but that was probably the easy part lol!

I appologize that I didn't get any drying or brushing pics... It's just that it requires two hands and some concentration. Maddie is such a good girl, she lets me do whatever I need to do. After a long time of brushing, drying, and a few trims of stray hairs:

and to think that I want her hair to grow out

and now for the random stuff...
After ever bath you must have an energy spurt and run!
Only then can you catch up on some ZZZzzz's

her legs look so fluffy and huge... but they're really secretly small and skinny!

Caught in the act! Sleeping with the cat!!

Missy... curling up into the tiniest ball ever, after her bath.
Is she supposed to be on the couch? no... LOL

((all right... I'm done))

Maddie is gorgeous!

I love the Missy-ball. When Ripley is cold, he can curl up to be about the size of a grapefruit Of course, I never see my dogs balled up because it's so flipping hot here, lol!

Such cute pics! I want to try to clip Bentley's little "bangs" myself, but I'm afraid I'd take off his eyelashes, eek.

ohhhh... I knooow... It takes sooo long. I think a lot of people don't realize how short their ears are in comparison to all of that hair lol. I have a harder time with the legs, though. There's just so much of it, and its really thick... And I want to be real thorough so she is soft and doesn't knot up.

How do they do it? You'd think Missy was a small dog in that picture - on the couch. She's secretly a giant clumsy cow

Check out some books, look it up online... practice makes perfect The good thing about long haired breeds is the hair always grows back if you mess up, lol
