One more here with way. Don't breed her. Not only the obvious risk to her life, but if she was a runt, it wouldn't be good to pass on those genes. Let the people who have the finest specimens, who are experienced, reputable breeders be the ones who produce the Chihuahua. That way the breed will flourish and be more healthy and sound. And there will be more fine Chihuahuas to choose from for people in the future. Your dog is adorable and very pretty, but being a runt and not having the "perfect" confomation, it wouldn't be responsible to pass along those genes anyhow. Then the breed would deteriorate as a whole.

I have two Chihuahuas who are from a back yard breeder. My girl is about 6 lbs and healthy but not the epitome of perfection conformation wise. My boy has had surgery on his knee and will probably need more surgeries. He doesn't even look like a purebred so I call him a mix, but he supposedly is a purebred. (it's a long story how and why I aquired these dogs) They both have terrific temperaments though. This breeder didn't take the care needed as in genetic health testing, x rays and just bred her dogs for the sake of breeding, not to improve upon the last generation, not to go about it in the proper and involved way that good breeders do. That is what I mean by irresponsible.

So, like everyone said, enjoy your little dumpling, keep her safe and healthy and spay her. That lessens the chance of mammary cancer, very likely with unspayed dogs.

Hope to see more photos. She is really a cutie!

Any time you breed, there is a it worth it when there are so many chi's out there in need of a good home?

She is an absolute doll. And I too agree... please don't breed her. I would have her spayed as soon as possible so insure no unwanted pregnancies occur. I would not want to take the chance of breeding her knowing there is a significant risk to her life in doing so.

Chi's are a breed of dog that should only be bred by a professional who knows exactly what they are doing. I never really gave it much thought when I owned dogs before. I let them have puppies because I THOUGHT it would be fun. I would sell them and make a few hundred bucks. But I didn't know any better back then. I had no idea I was a back yard breeder and was contributing to the back yard breeding world.

Stick around here and you'll learn a lot about this very topic. There are a lot of informative people here on this board that can share a lot of experiences with you.

I hope you take the advice and not breed your chi. She is again... absolutely a doll. Enjoy her and love her!

Shes very cute! And I see a my little pony in the picture

Don't breed her if you don't want to risk it. Way to many complications that can happen.
