~Please help are chihuahuas too small to breed???~I need advise!!!!!~
Hi,
Iv'e got a chihuahua called pebbles and shes 9mths at the moment. When shes old enough i wanted to breed her with another chihuahua,but im scared she might die while giving birth.The reason for this is because she was the runt of the litter and a few vets have told me not to in case it does happen.If i were to breed her i'd have to find a smaller sized chi. Im not sure since shes my first chihuahua.If you have any advice or info,i'd be so glad if yous tell me  I just couldn't live without her,she's like my baby,lol Thanks everyone Candace

Not getting into all that goes into breeding, if you are that worried about losing her then don't breed her. Chi's have a very hard time breeding most of the time. Save yourself a lot of money and potential grief and just get her spayed so you can enjoy your friend for many many years to come.

She is an absolute doll!!!
I'm with Zoom. These little dogs often have problems whelping even when they are the larger female Chi's chosen for breeding. C-sections are pretty typical and the risk of loosing her would be great. She's obviously very special to you... I have 2 Chi's and one of mine is from someone who shouldn't be breeding...her mother died giving birth and she was 7 lbs.  Just enjoy your sweet girl, breeding her would be inviting heartbreak.

I just wanted to say your girl is very cute & I think too that you should get her spayed and let her live out her years as a pet not as a mama.
I dont know anything about breeding, but I have read on these forums lots of horror stories of people who end up with huge vet bills and a dead mama dog (even dead pups). As the saying goes, it's better safe than sorry and if your vet is telling you not to do it, dont do it!!
