Default Potty on couch

Maggie, my 16 month old lhasa apso, will not quit pooping on the couch downstairs. That is the only place that she will go, and she never pees, just poops. I have even gone as far as buying new couches-no scent on them at all. She started doing it again. I have caught her in the act and taken her outside immediately. But she just stands there. I could let her out for hours and she'll poop out there, but sometime after I let her in she goes downstairs and goes to the bathroom. Why does she do this? There hasn't been another dog in the house, Jasmine and Katy are both potty trained. I'm getting VERY MAD and I don't have the slightest clue as to what to do. Any suggestions would be great.

Is there a way you can keep her out of that room? I honestly don't know why she would do that. Sometimes they do stuff like that because they are mad at you for some reason. Sometimes they do it because there is an underlying health issue that needs to be addressed. Sometimes there is just a scent on it that attracts them. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but there are so many different reasons she may be doing it, so you just have to narrow down the choices one by one.

Physical health wise there is absolutely nothing wrong with her... mental health may be a different story lol. I could block it off, but that also means blocking it off for Jasmine and Katy. I'd hate to do that because my house isn't all that big to begin with and they aren't allowed in any of the rooms upstairs except the loft. I guess I can only complain about it so much because blocking it off would solve the problem, but that means another problem occurs.

There are pads you can get to keep pets off of the sofa. I'm not sure how they work. When I get a chance (I've got the furniture store today while Charley's off at the big retailers' Market) I'll see if I can't stumble across a site that has them again.

Are they the pads that are supposed to make it uncomfortable for the dog so they don't want up on the couch?

I think they may make some sort of noise or have a texture they don't like. I didn't look too closely because I wasn't in the market for something like that. Even if I were, the Monsters would just pull them off like they do with the cushions.

I've had a Lhasa before and they are notorious for WEIRDO behavior. My Spencer would do things that would totally confuse the heck out of me. What material is your couch made out of? We've had a suede leather couch, loveseat and arm chair that my cat totally ruined by peeing and pooping on. We're thinking its the leather smell for some reason. Maybe its a territory thing. Maybe Maggie sees the other dogs on the couch and feels the need to leave something there for them? Sorry, not much help but I hope some may help.
