What is the benefit of having another dog, from the dog's point of view.

PROS....
(also these apply to my dogs)

1st......they have a play mate!
2nd......they are not alone when you are gone!
3rd.......they can keep each other busy!
4th.......more toys!


CONS....

1st....you have to share mommy or daddy
2nd....you have to share toys
3rd.....you have to share food

My dogs enjoy having others to play with, cuddle with, communicate with, etc. They keep eachother company. Mine also seem a bit more barky/guardy when there are others in the house. When Tango's alone, she won't bark at anything as she's too afraid. If she's around the others, she'll bark when someone is here because she knows that if something were to happen, they'd be right behind her. They seem to feel more secure with other dogs. Besides that though, I really don't know what other benefits there would be from a dog's point of view.

I have 5 currently, and 4 of the five very much enjoy having doggy company around. Tango, on the other hand, is actually much happier on her own or with only one other dog (but it has to be a herding or sporting breed...or else she won't like their company.).

dogs are pack animals. they love a second mate. 2 dogs is great. its not easy but it works.

but remember, more than 2 dogs is a pack. and they take on pack mannerisms.

A-w-w-w-w....they're so cute and comfy! I love the arm over the other one. It actually looks like there's going to be a sore shoulder after a while. lol.
