Hello! My Jack Russel, Isabel, and my dachshund/english toy spaniel mix,
Veda, have plain old dog food diets. But I occasionally feed them table scraps, which I believe count a little as homemade dog food. But everyone is talking about they feed their dogs this and that, and that this is healthy for dogs and this is not! I need help on what I really should be feeding my dogs, and how I should make the transition. Thanks, Kat

Good for you, Kat!
There are several different ways to feed your dogs: raw food, raw food combined with nutritionally balanced, commercially prepared blends, home cooked food, and high quality commercially prepared dog foods. Raw and home cooked require a good deal of homework to make sure your dog is getting the right kinds of nutrients for good health. Mordy and some of the others can give you good links to learn more about it, and I'd suggest you use the link in Mordy's signature that will take you to her site. Her site will also tell you about how to look for quality commercially prepared dog rations. One of the best is the Innova EVO formula. Quite a few of us feed that and have very good results - and dogs who love their dinners.
