I would love to take my puppy in to have some professional puppy pictures done. Maybe just him, him and me, or even the whole family (him, hubby, and me). Anyway, I did a search and there are no photographers who ONLY do pet pictures.

I was wondering if I could take him into places like Walmart or JC Penny's (I don't even know if there is a Penny's in this area...), or somewhere like that to have his pictures done.

Does anyone have professional pictures of their "baby"? Was it worth it? Do you have a picture you could post?

I had some taken of my recent litter, by a professional photographer, it was way to hard to get all the pups together so he took individual ones then sliced them together to make one picture, I personally love it, and to me it is a momento of our first litter. we live in the Uk and the photographer was really a man that take photographs of people, but when he saw me with all the pups one day when we were socialising them, he asked could he take some pictures, I agreed and this is the resultpuppies

You might ask some of the groomers in the area.

More and more photographers are doing pet portraits now, so calling some of the professional photographers in your area would be a good idea, but I'd warn you off of places like Sears, WalMart and Pennys. I worked for Sears Portrait Studio for awhile (which, by the way, isn't operated by Sears). Those aren't really photographers. Those are people who filled out an application, were trainable, and are pretty good salespeople. Those studios aren't meant to take good portraits, they're set up to sell portrait packages.

Years ago I had my cat done. A photographer had set up some special portrait days at Petco. You might want to call and ask if yours does something like that. It was a pet photographer that specializes in working with animals. (It was a lot like photographing a baby, interestingly - amuse them and make sure they don't fall off the table)

The pictures turned out really good.
