I do take him out usually every hour to hour and a half and he will still go. I keep him in a crate when I am not home and he will go in the crate anyway. I keep him with me as much as I can during the day but sometimes it is impossible for him to be out and I have to crate him or put him in the kitchen. I usually do put him on a leash to use the bathroom but for some reason he doesn't like going if I'm standing right there at the end of the leash. So I will usually let him off the leash and when I see him going I will hurry up to where he is at and try to praise him when he is done. I say try because usually he is not interested in the petting and worshipping when he is outside he just wants to hurry up and get inside where it is warm (and I can't really blame him). He won't even stop for a treat he'll just keep running for the door. While he is going I will tell him "good boy, good potty."

I talked to his vet about it. I told him the situation and he wasn't worried about it just told me to keep working on it. Although, I have tried for the past two days just letting him wander the kitchen while we are gone and he hasn't had an accident. I don't know if maybe he just freaked out in the crate and that is why he had accidents. Today (Easter) we were gone for almost seven hours and he didn't have one accident. So it might have just been he was afraid of being in his crate. I don't know I'll try to not crate him when we go out and see if that will help him. Also it seems to help with him barking while we are gone too. The neighbors said they didn't hear him make one noise today while we were gone (which was very reassuring to us).

It sounds like you've found the problem! Hurray!

Juliefurry, it's great letting him out of crate helped, but just remember to puppyproof your home. My stepson finally let his 9 month old pup out and it didn't pee or poop in the house, but 3 days later he chewed the couch. I'm trying to work on them puppyproofing a room for him because they decided to put him back in the cage and he cries and drools all over himself. Remember "bitter apple" works great sprayed on furniture, etc.

Thankfully he is not a chewer. He will chew on his toys but we haven't noticed him chew on anything other than his toys...yet. Our kitchen is puppyproofed though (we had to have it babyproofed because we have a 10 month old daughter). There's nothing bad he can get into and if he does chew on anything then it's nothing that is bad or something that we really need.
