Talking Roxy's Lesson! Yay!

I just got back from Roxy's lesson and she did AMAZING! No other word than AMAZING!

I am so impressed with her! I think her enthusiasm had a lot to do with the hot dogs that we used for treats tonight though, but I won't let that dampen my spirits!

Her heeling-amazing!

Figure eight heeling-amazing!

Stay proofing-amazing!

Drop on recall-amazing!

Retrieve on flat/high jump-amazing!

and best of all, we worked on the broad, and we're really trying to instill in Roxy that she can't cut that jump and she did, you guessed it AMAZING! LOL

So we had a really good night at school tonight. Esther and Liz can't believe some of the things that are advanced/utility levels. They're jaws either drop or they start screaming! LOL

Esther mentioned something about showing her in CKC obedience... something about just taking a picture of her head... I don't really understand but if she could show in CKC it would be so much easier than travelling all the miles to make it to the few NAMBR trials we could in a year. We'll have to see, but I'm darn skippy right now!

Woohoo! Great job Roxy

If you were in the US, I would think that Roxy could pass for either a Dobe or a Rottie, if you were applying for an ILP. I'm not sure if you can get a CKC equivalent of an ILP, or if it's like UKC where mixes are allowed to compete.

An ILP? So what exactly is it?

So Roxy would be able to compete in obedience, of course not confirmation, I wouldn't want to anyways, that would be ridiculous.

But there is a sucha thing??

I told Roxy that she was a good girl from all of you!

She is very proud of herself, although I'm sure she has no idea why...

Usually she gets in trouble for licking herself on the couch.. LMAO

Great, thanks guys. Now Roxy thinks it great to lick herself! LMAO

An ILP is an "indefinite listing privilege". "Purebred, no papers" dogs can be registered with AKC so they can compete, but they cannot compete in conformation.
The ILP requires you to send in a photo of the dog. The AKC wants the dog to appear purebred - however, I have a friend with an aussie/spaniel mix who was able to get an ILP on her dog as a purebred Brittany. Roxy could definitely pass as a Rottie or Dobe.

I'm not sure if the CKC has something like this. UKC doesn't even bother, mixes are eligable to compete. AKC is so "elite". Only purebreds or dogs that appear to be purebred can do anything.
