well, the pup stayed at the vet for 7 days and the cost added up thousands of dollars. She had no choice as she couldn't afford it. The vet said if she gave him up he would have proper treatment and a chance of living. Sigh, it is so sad. I really don't know what i would have done.

I didn't see this before - but how disgusting.

Lets all hope the "regular" sized one doesn't end up with a health issue

no kidding. So if this one has some health problem and the vet bill adds up again, she's going to give it up and buy another dog that's healthy for awhile before it gets sick again? People like this shouldn't own dogs, period..they don't deserve one...

Its the breeders fault for sure, but the owner was just as responsible for the blame.

Like someone else said at 8 weeks old and 1 pound, that pom sounds just about right. It may be younger than what you were told. In any case, as the owner of a 1.3 lb. 9 year old Chihuahua (resuce from a nutcase trying to make a quick buck)...RUN IF YOU HEAR THE WORDS TEA CUP, POCKET, IMPERIAL or any other ridiculous made up term to describe an unusually small toy dog. You're really asking for trouble buying such a small pup not to mention supporting such horrible "breeders".

There's no such thing as a pocket pom. They just bred the poor thing too small, and call it a 'pocket' so it sounds professional enough to sell for thousands of dollars that it's not worth.

A correct answer coming from someone that bought an expensive pup from someone that breeds 'silkshire' terriers (BYB). Will wonders never cease? *yes, that's sarcasm you detect.*

Ok, ok. I was having a "moment" earlier. Plus I just read another one of her threads where the 'silkshire' is getting spayed and not being bred.
I shouldn't have typed it just because I was thinking it. I could have probably come up with a better, nicer way to get my thought out there OR just kept my (fingers...LOL) mouth shut.
