Pocket Pom

Ok what is a pocket pom? I had a customer that called to tell me she has a pocket pom to sell. She said it only weighs 1lbs right now and is 8 weeks old. Her chihuahua's are small but not that small. I've never heard of one before. Anybody else?

Some back yard breeder trying to sell a dog that was bred to be much tinier than breed standards. They are often unhealthy (actually, most of the time they are unhealthy) and have behavioral problems.

Curious, why did she call you to tell you she had a pup to sell? Are you looking for a new pup?

Just a very tiny pomeranian pup, extremely unhealthy im sure.

If you are looking for a pup, this is not the one to get and this women does not sound like the person you want to deal with.

Yeah like everyone says it's going to be an unhealthy pet, and the "pocket" breeds are always really fragile, and they dont last long. And just curious but how much does she want for the puppy?

When I was a kid there was a man who used to carry his little tiny red pom around in the inside pocket of his coat. That dog was the cutest little thing. He had the dog for many years. He/she must have been the exception to the unhealthy rule.
