A BYB's website for Keeshonden and shelties

It's pretty obvious to me, and stuff like this makes me sick. NONE of the dogs I've seen are show quality on that website.

Here are some of the discrepancies on the website:

1) The plural of Keeshond is Keeshonden. It's a dutch word. "Keeshonds" is incorrect, and every serious breeder knows that.

2) It says all of the parents of the adult dogs have been genetically tested for genetic faults. My questions for them would be, "so what?" If you don't test your dogs, you don't know what you've got.

3) It mentions nothing about a health guarentee. That should wave a "red flag" to someone.

4) The site says adamently that "We do not sell to puppy mills!" I think the lady do protest too much, on that one. With as many dogs as they have, no doubt they are running their own puppy mill.

There are more on there, but I don't want to beat the subject to death. Just if you're out there looking for a keesie or a sheltie, avoid these people. They're back yard breeders.

First off.. those are some ugly Shelties...

Pricked ears, horrible coats, looks almost over sized as well.. *puke*

A quote that I found humerous would be

The long outer hair can get tangled.

Maybe I haven't owned Shelties long enough (22yrs) but I always thought that it was the UNDER coat that tangled.. Hmm.. guess you learn something everyday!

Coat: Outer layer of the coat is long and wiry. The inner layer is short and soft. Colors are sable (with and without black tips on the hairs), black and tan with white markings, black-white, and blue-black.

LMAO I have NEVER heard of a "wirey" Sheltie coat. Love how they describe the colours too.. There is no such THING as a just black&tan Sheltie.. it is called a Tri colour - meaning THREE colours - black/tan/white. Black-white would be called Bi colour - meaning TWO colours black and white and the Blue-Black i assume they mean Blue Merle.

I wish more of their pictures would work so I could see their "stock"... but they are all little red X's to me.

Yeah, their keeshonden look like crap, too.

Care: When shedding, the Keeshond needs to be brushed and combed regularly. Otherwise, combing should be kept to a minimum. Brushed once a week.

That's called "blowing coat." It's when all of their undercoat comes out at one time. That's the only time Keesies are truly a pain to groom.

Shedding is more normal then blowing coat.

These people know nothing about the dogs they even breed. Sad

Hey...

I'm sure that's not actually targeted against 6th graders. It's just bad if an adult made the page that it comes across that way. I sent an email to them with all the "errors" on their site. I think it will be funny to see what they say about it.
