Hi everyone. I currently co-own a jack russell (he's techincally my parent's dog) and have thoughts of getting a new dog in the coming years. A few months ago I saw the cutest dog on the street. I asked the owner about him and she said he was half Boston, half Jack Russell terrier. I loved his disposition and appearance- just a perfect looking dog! I looked on the internet to see if there's a name for this hybrid, but can't seem to find it.
Does anyone own a dog of this mix or know where I could find out more about how to find a breeder? I would just like to learn more about the mix and if it's considered a good mix, both health and disposition wise. Thanks! |

Sounds like he was probably from an accidental litter. Breeders who do this sort of thing on purpose aren't reputable and shouldn't be encouraged.

Well, Boston/Jack Russel mixes aren't purebred, so there shouldn't be anybody breeding them. And if they are, they are irresponsible. I suggest looking on www.petfinder.com to see if they have any mixes or purebreds that you might like. Or you can go to your local shelter and find another cute and adorable mix that needs a home.
Oh, and since he was a mixed breed, he might act and look different than a 'normal' Jack/Boston mix. I've met two Lab/Chow mixes and they were completley different in both size, color, and temperment. One had short hair, the other long hair. One was really hyper, the other wasn't. One had a big blocky head, the other had a skinnier, more 'lady like' head. You can't buy a mixed breed and expect it to act/look like the same mixed breed you saw. Just my .02 though. |

I have a Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Mix (BoJack is what I say he is), named Zach. He is the coolest, sweetest dog! We get a lot of people ask us if he is part pit bull. He has a lot of brindle, and the wide jaws like pit ulls. Zach is a very loyal and smart dog. I do not know if his parents are purebreed on each side - doesn't matter to me. He has not been raised around children, and I do not trust him around children, as he does not appear to think much of them when they are around. I would definitely try to get another one someday!
