This was before I owned a Wolfhound but I was at Petsmart one day and met an Irish Wolfhound for the first time. Sadly his owner was more then a little stuck up and asked that I didnt pet his dog

probably a Schipperke and a Basenji are the most rare that I've seen. But some of the rare dogs you guys have seen aren't that rare in my area, so I'm assuming maybe these two aren't rare to others

My breeder has a Boerboel. I have two Ridgebacks and I guess they are a rare find here. I constantly get questions about them when we are out. Most common question, " how come you shaved her back like that" or "how did you get her hair to do that".

I've met a few Tosa Inu when I was living in Hawaii. Absolutely gorgeous dogs! Not quite as huge as most mastiffs, but they give the impression of 100% strength and power. Just awe-inspiring creatures. I fell in love with them right away. I'd love to have one someday, but I don't know if I'll ever feel capable enough to handle that much dog.

I've also met a few Blue Laceys, which are fairly common around here. And a blackmouth cur and catahoula, of course.

The one I met was in a pet store so she was pretty excited and not paying much attention to me at all but I was tlaking to her owner for a while and he was telling me about how mischevious she is at home. Always getting in to trouble...lol. She seemed like a very sweet little dog though and very energetic.
