Default Headplanes

Does anyone know how drastic headplanes can change?

Jaguar's headplanes did some pretty crazy things but they were never really that bad. I have a 9 month old female I am waiting out on right now to see if her headplanes will improve, but they are both uneven and unparallel. I wish I had a picture of her from the side to show you all but she won't hold still long enough for me to take one lol. It's also very hard to tell just how bad they are as her nose is sort of sloped. I don't think you can even tell when her ears are up.

Anyways, has anyone seen headplanes go from terrible to good?

I close my eyes tight from 3-5 mos old so I don't see what my pups heads do! lol I can't say that I'd feel good about a 9 mos old head that at least didn't show a glimmer of what you wanted. If it is a mixture of unrelated bloodlines, you can often get weird headplanes, with the upper part coming from one side of the family and the lower from another.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know that about mixed lines. She is quite linebred, so that's definatly not it. I started to really look at her today and even got some pictures, and when her ears are up, her planes look very parallel -- it's when her ears are back that they look quite horrible. But I'm more worried about how uneven they are. Her nose is quite a bit longer than her forehead. She's definatly finishable, but it's not something I want to breed in to my lines. I'm still going to give it some more hope and see what they look like at a year. Her temperment is so wonderful I may consider breeding her anyways, as I want to breed her to my foundation girl's full brother, and his lines carry some very nice headplanes. I'm just wondering if his lines will cancel out the big moose nose that is in her lines LOL.
