Now I expected this when I started giving the poochies canned food, but how long is it going to last for???
Poor Roxy hasn't had a solid poop in 2 days, and instead of pooping once or maybe twice a day it's been more like 3 or 4! Does the canned just have too much moisture for her? Do I just hold out, and hope she firms up? Should I give her something to firm her up? |

A tablespoon of canned pumpkin will help. Not the spiced pie variety, but just plain canned pumpkin.

The moisture content of a food has no bearing on the stool, since water is removed in the colon.
Could it be that you are feeding too much all at once? I second the comment on the canned pumpkin, and also a good quality probiotic supplement. You bought Eagle Pack canned food, right? Check out this product: http://eaglepack.com/pages/ep_holistic_solution.html

Canned pumpkin, I'll have a look for it..
I don't think the pet store I got the food from has that product you mentioned Mordy but I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask. She hasn't been getting that much. Maybe a can, a can and a half day. No more than that. The night I got the food they each got half a can for dinner. The next day, half a can for breakfast. (Roxy got her pills) And that night they got a can each for dinner. Today they got half a can this morning, but i'm not giving them anymore tonight. |
