Exclamation Help! Save The Bullied Breeds Needs Info, Pics & Suggestions

Hey, guys. I recently started a website to help save the "Bullied" breeds. This website is not only for the bully breeds but the breeds that have been bullied by the media and the government. I am in need of some things for my website. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for:

(1) Pictures- Of Amstaffs, APBTs, American Bulldogs, Rottweilers, Chow Chows, Boxers, Mastiffs etc.
Please include: name & age of dog...breed...titles or training it holds...and your first name and location if you would like it published on the site.

(2) Rescue Organization Websites

(3) Facts & myths and any other info you may have.

Please send to [email protected]

Like I said any help or suggestions would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Feel free to take a look around the site and sign the guest book too!

http://savethebulliedbreeds.tripod.com

Please note it is still under construction and still needs a lot of work.

Thanks

For sure...Akitas are definately a bullied breed. Sorry I didn't list them too, but there are just too many breeds that have been bullied.

Quick question: When you say that APBT and AmStaffs pass 95% of temperament tests and the other 121 breeds are only 77% do you take into consideration that: A Temperament Test can be considered a "snap shot" of a puppy on a particular day. And that in order to make the best comparisons, the test should be done under similar circumstances, in a similar environment, and at a similar time of day for each breed to get an accurate "score".

I just think that if you mentioned this...or had statistical proof posted from a valid source...it wouldn't make owners of other breeds feel like you are saying their dogs aren't capable of passing a temperament test with a high %. JMO and the only pics I had were one's to the site you have on your front page...but I will search online for some that show "bullied" breeds at their best...and in true form.

http://www.badrap.org/rescue/myths.cfm

It says, "In a recent study of 122 dog breeds by the American Temperament Testing Society, pit bulls achieved a passing rate of 83.9%....beagles 78.2%...Golden Retrievers 83.2% (more here) http://www.atts.org/stats1.html
Results as of 12/2005 (but you see my point) and the Labrador Retriever at 91.4%

Also you have to look at how many dogs were tested per breed. APBT had 515 tested, 430 passed, 85 failed....Labs had 676 tested, 618 passed, 58 failed. So, you can see that it's not exactly fair to all breeds or accurate all the time. If the exact same amount were tested per breed it would be more accurate. I guess it gives you a general idea though.

I found this statistic on many different webpages. Not only just pit bull websites. But I understand what you are saying...that they put those two breeds specifically out there and lumped all the other 121 breeds together to get the average of 77%. Some of those breeds scoring very high and others scoring very lowl. Its definately not fair to those good breeds to lump them in with the not so good ones (I dont want to say bad ones because there isnt any). But I think that they used that statistic to get the point across that these two breeds are not the monsters a lot of people think they are. I will definately put some better statistics on there about that though. I also think that you are right that they have to be a lot more careful about controlling their tests. Thanks for the comment and the info.

Good luck to you!

Especially here, recently the media's been casting their usual bad light on dogs. Not just ones traditionally are "public enemy #1", but all breeds. Our two which have lovely natures are getting victimised by people who believe the media

It's a sorry state of affairs, so I wish you luck
