OK, got some good news and bad news. First the bad news, Thursday morning one of the pups died. It was the little white one. She wasnt right from the beginning. She didnt know how to nurse, so we had to syringe feed her every 2 hours. She did go to the vet Wed, and she was dehydrated, but said her heart and lungs sounded fine. Wed. afternoon she was better. More active, was hardly dehydrated, and was looking like she would make it. Then the nite, she became lifeless again, and cold. When I went down to check on them at 7 am, she was very cold, and somewhat blue. I was able to give her about a tablespoon of forumula, and warm her up, but it wasnt enough. I also tried CPR, but again, didn't work. She died at 9:45 in my hands. The past 3 days have been quite sad and quite horrible. But in the end, it was probably for the better. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die". Ecc. 3:1-2.
Now, the good news- I have the pictures! ![]() ![]()

I would like to add, that all other pups are doing great! They now all weigh in between 1.5-2 lbs. What should be the "normal" weight for 5 dy. old pups who will probably be about 45-50 lbs as adults? (Well, that can vary greatly, Snowy is 32 lbs, Ranger is 55, Ranger's "uncle" is over 60.)
Snowy is doing great. I am feeding her about 2.5 cups of food a day, (well, I put 3 cups in her bowl and she never eats it all, normally is fed 1 cup a day), plus 1/4 cup of broth and 1 egg, and she is actually gaining weight off of it. Thanks again for all the help! |

Hello everyone! Update on the puppies. They're now 12 days old. Thier eyes and ears are pretty much open. Like all pups, they are blue now, but I am betting that most of them will turn out brown. Blue eyes do run in thier families, so its possible some remain blue. They all weigh about 2-2.5 pounds now. Thier coats are getting longer and thicker. I'm also betting that they will probably turn out long haired and fluffy like thier dad. Some will probably have short hair though too. They are starting to learn how to stand and walk. They can get up on all 4's, and when they try and take a step, the just fall over. They kinda crawl along with thier front legs up and push off with the back legs. When they need something, they are very good at telling you! These guys will probably be loud mouths! (Then again, which huskies arent?)
Tuesday they get dewormed for the first time. |
