Default What breeds is she *really*?

Okay, you dog savvy people...shed some light on this!

Lucy was labeled as a bichon/poodle by her (less than decent, of course) breeder. Obviously, we never thought she was wrong. Lucy's "bat ears" always put us off, but no one in my family knows enough about dogs to be able to pick apart what breeds are in a mutt.

So. When she got groomed 3 weeks ago, the very first thing the groomer said to us was, "WHERE did she get those ears!" After a conversation with my mom, the groomer went on to say that there is poodle in her, and yeah there could be bichon too, but that's not all she has in her. She was thinking some sort of terrier possibly, but more likely papillon.

We also asked the vet about it. He definitely sees poodle, not so much bichon, but thinks it's very likely papillon is in her.

I don't know. I don't care what she has in her, but it sure is interesting to see what people think!
What do you think?

I see Papillon in her, the coat makes me think Bichon, but I'd have to see her standing to really tell.

I'd have to agree about the Papillion..

maybe she is a Papapoo? lol ohh those poodle X names kill me lol

hmm.. yeah I'd deinately say either a Papillion/poodle or a Papillion/Bishon

Papillon can also bring out the colour that your little pup has as well..

I see Papillon, or maybe Chi or Rat Terrier? She is very cute, her coloring definitely reminds me of a Papillon, as do those ears!

That is such a bummer. I know maaany people who have bought specific mixed breeds they wanted from pet store and breeders, and the puppies turned out to be nothing like what they were labeled as... a good friend of mine bought what the "breeder" (aka broker) told her was a Chi x Poodle. The puppy turned out to be some combination of Chi x Dachshund! And she is not hypo-allergenic in any form, she sheds like crazy, which is part of the reason they wanted a "poo". It's horrible to think of how deceptive people can be, and that breeders just lie to innocent people's faces. Needless to say, my friend has sworn off anything but reputable breeders & rescue.
