Aww! Is she doing well with you at college already? I know you were really worried about her getting stressy, but she looks super relaxed in these pics!

Aw, I love Boo! I'm so glad it's working out. I missed my dogs terribly last year, more than my family haha. Having Lola here has really made a difference.

Yes! She already seems to be doing okay, especially when she gets to go on walks She doesn't like it when I leave her (which unfortunately, I have to do for quite a while today), but she's been good. Yesterday night was the first time she ate her full meal with gusto (or about as much gusto as Boo ever shows for her food) since she's been here, so I think she was finally starting to feel more comfortable.

She adores her walks - we have the stupidest squirrels here in Blacksburg - and lots of them. Boo is convinced that one of them is going to be her next snack and on Sunday her wish almost came true when she nearly pulled me off my feet.

My roommate says she's like a cat. I told my roommate that she's about as close to a living pet rock as you can get when it comes to living with her

Yay!

Also, you're in Blacksburg?! I may be up there for a flyball tournament the end of December...

I am in Blacksburg! Unfortunately it sounds like I'll just miss you as I'll be heading home for Christmas Break before the end of december. I'm more than happy to recommend places to visit/eat (especially hikes if you like hiking!)

As a sidenote - Boo seems to be picking up the college lifestyle more quickly than I'd anticipated...

Why thank you. You know, I don't think she was actually very stressed throughout the duration of her visit. I was pleasantly surprised. She loved my roommates and she is a huge sucker for my boyfriend and I'm pretty positive she appreciated the tenfold walk increase from her usual routine.

We're home now (finally!) but yesterday both my boyfriend and I had classes cancelled, so we left bright and early and took a hike on the way home. It was a questionably bleak day, there were no cars with ours at the lot, and the "lot" was off of a thrilling dirt road several miles from the nearest paved road, so Boo got to have a little off leash time. We did 6.4 miles and Boo was off leash nearly the whole time. I can't speak too much, because we saw no deer and only one squirrel in the distance (and I have no doubt that she would have chased both is she'd seen them within her "chase range"), but she was wonderful! We did meet a couple with an old vizsla at the top of the mountain and the two dogs got along splendidly (AKA sniffed and then happily ignored one another!)

Also - if anyone lives remotely near to the Buena Vista area - this hike is PERFECT for dogs. You can do the loop (like we did) and start on the Old Hotel Trail and then intersect it with the AT (~6.4 miles) or you can just hike the AT from a different roadside lot out and back (~3 give or take (I'm just ballparking it) miles total for the 'out and back'). The top affords magnificent views and a HUGE open field. This time of year on an off day, it's pretty desolate, despite being on the AT, so perfect for a dog to run around safely without worry of cars.

PHOTOS!

Two more and then that's probably it for the photos in this thread seeing as we're home now, but prepare for many more thanksgiving photos in the near future!
