Talking Sir has stopped eating!

I know, I know... this sounds scary and/or dumb. This is a big deal for us.

For a long time we battled with keeping weight on him. We battled with GETTING him to eat to keep weight on. Tried some different foods and supplements, and I think we have finally found the perfect combo.

Been on the Lamb Earthborn for a few bags, and using nupro as a supplement for the last month and a half at the recommendation of the guy I've been seeing. Worked great for his dobes, he said. Sir's actually been eating all of his meals with this plan happily, and hasn't had any trouble at 4.5 cups a day...

Well this morning Sir ate about 3/4 of his bowl of food and stopped. Brian told me that he hadn't been eating all of his breakfast lately at his house so I immediately got alarmed like "Oh great, he's going to stop eating again."

Except... I looked at him, and realized that he is not so skinny anymore!

He's pretty thick, HEAVY, and doesn't have ribs showing anymore. I think he stopped eating because he knows that he doesn't need to eat that much now. And he's finally right. He's at the PERFECT weight, IMO, FINALLY. It's been such a struggle, and I knew a lot had to do with his age, too, but I think maybe the supplements helped out more than I really gave them credit for. I'm just over the moon now. XD

Sorry for my dumb story, I just had to share.

Yesterday when I saw him I was insanely impressed with how good his weight looked! I can't believe I forgot to comment on it!

Yay for Sirbee!

I was totally going to ask you right after typing this up what you thought when you saw him and I forgot to! (you distracted me!)

I'm so happy. XD

Nice job. 6 years and I still can't get Kobe to eat more than a cup or two a day. Glad you found a solution!

The guy doesn't look twice at anything. I mean I can leave my food on the floor, it could be anything, a cooked steak, raw steak, spaghetti, doesn't matter. It will go a whole day without getting eaten even if I leave him locked in a room with it.

Which is kind of nice but....... a bit extreme lol. I've tried everything under the sun. Kobe can open doors or cabinet doors. Once in a while, he gets a craving for an NB roll. He goes and gets it, then puts it down in front of me and waits for me to cut a slice and give it to him. Then the slice of NB roll lasts at least a hour lol. If he even finishes the slice....

I'll have to get back to you on that one. I wonder that myself, the test results haven't come back yet!
