Zander is going to be 9 in about 4 months. I'm having a woeful day.

He has a molar that needs to be pulled, one of the big ones. I wanted it pulled earlier this year - April or so? - but they told me that it was fine, and it didn't need pulled. Looked like they did a root canal, so all was good. But it's definitely discolored and not looking good at all. It isn't abscessed, terribly swollen, or seem to be giving him too many problems, but it is something I've had to keep an eye on until we have the money to get it pulled. He wants something to chew on, but because of his teeth and the last fracture, he's been cold turkey and he HATES it.

Super itchy, can't find any root cause. It isn't fleas, doesn't seem to be food, could be environmental allergies, but not much I can do about that. Stud tail. His hips are starting to cause him some discomfort.

He was SUPER anxious and frightened for YEARS. Now he finally starts mellowing out and loves all the people and his body starts having issues. Can't win.

Well I was excited all afternoon about doing another hour or so session of agility/weaves after work. I left work all pumped but by the time I got home it started raining hard outside. Boo. I'm sad. Maybe tomorrow we can get a session in.

It's also in the 40s-crazy!

I just realized how BIG Abrams is. Jeez. I swear he grew an inch and gained 10 pounds when I wasn't looking. He's just....a lot of solid dog. And such a good, good boy, especially with as much as I've been neglecting him lately due to work and life.

Feist loves to jump. If she's running somewhere she'll go out of her way to find something to hop over. So cute.

I think having a constant playmate in the foster pup has left Jubel a bit tired and cranky. He went to daycare as usual yesterday and when I picked him up they told me he was acting a little out of character that day. Emphasized very clearly he wasn't bad or misbehaving at all but that he was getting snippy with some of the high energy dogs who got all up in his face. He air snapped at a few of them, which in and of itself isn't bad but it's out of character for him at daycare.

I suspect he's just tired from all the wrestling he's doing at home with the foster pup. At least I certainly hope that's all it is. Jazz has an approved adopter all lined up and is likely going to her new home this weekend so I guess we'll find out next week if Jubel is back to normal at daycare or not.

There is a clone! It's name is Ned.

(I am obviously in the Mirapup camp though!)

$$$ later, Feist is on the mend. Poor girly was absolutely fine this morning, then took a nap and woke up drooling profusely. Had to take her to the vet when I was supposed to be leaving, was worried it was parvovirus because both ends were ick. However, it appears she ate some burrs. THIS PUPPY. Really just glad that was all it was, but honestly, DID SHE HAVE TO EAT THEM? Love the lovebug, she is so darn weird.

It occurs to me exactly how futile a request such as "Payton, calm down" really is.

About as futile as saying 'please stop' to Feist?

Probably!

I said to him "Payton, you know I don't like it when you do that."
and he ran past me at top speed with this look on his face that said HA HA HA YEAH I TOTALLY DO

I think he's full of swagger because he almost got to snack on three baby bunnies last night... jerk.
