Bailey had a recheck with the vet that did her dental and nose stuff. I really, really like this vet and have used her for "non-routine" things in the past. Super down to earth, super friendly, and knowledgeable. I didn't need to go to the appointment with my mom and Bailey, but I wanted to.

First, I swear Bailey has turned back time. She looks younger than she did last time I saw her! She's moving better, she's more muscled, and well... she can hear again. During her dental/nose stuff they checked her ears and found wax plugs... uhhh...?! They were able to remove/dislodge/whatever you do with those and now Bailey has a significant amount of hearing back. So very odd!

Second, I seriously can't get over how much Clonidine improves her ability to not just cope with, but enjoy life. She worked the vet and tech over at her appointment so thoroughly I had to ask if this was really my dog?! Then we went to my work so she could get her post-dental adjustment where she just wagged her tail the whole time our just-learning-spinal-manipulation vet felt her neck a bajillion times. And then she chin targeted her beloved Dr. T (repeatedly, just in case Dr. T was ignoring her on purpose or something), because what dog doesn't love Dr. T?

Third, I am so relieved that my dog is so happy and so healthy. I couldn't have asked for anything better when I asked my mom if she would be willing to let Bailey live with her permanently.

My heart is so happy today.

When I went for a run two of my dogs got out (Buddy & one of my parents dogs) like ... They peeled the fence back a couple of feet when they couldn't ip out under the gate fence (there is a cactus in the other side).

When I came back they were running around the pieces of old farm equipment chasing something ... I think a rabbit ran through the yard or something.

Grrrrrr ... Those assholes, as soon as I yelled at them, they high tailed it back where they got out. So instead of doing the yard work I WANTED to do, I had to spend two hours repairing a fence ... Grrr Rawr

My dog has officially reached creeper status. He's laying on his back next to my foot alternately staring at me and sloooowly licking my foot.

Note to self. Remember there may be no puppies entered in the show, so you're straight in the ring!!! Bad planning on my part today! Walked right in from the car park, into the ring with literally no seconds to spar, someone cello taping my number to my arm as I go lol = not a productive performance from Fred and I = 5/5 lol. I faffed with him, and he wouldn't stand straight and I was all flustered, and it was generally poor!! His brother took 2nd though

Live and learn!!!

I tried doing conformation with bear but he didn't like it lol, he never would "stack with enthusiasm" so I didn't make him do it. Conformation isn't the only thing a show dog can do anyway

I don't think it's Fred's first love. I certainly didn't get him to show!! But he's from very successful show stock, and thought it can't hurt to have a go!! We've only done 4 I think to date. I'm more excited about starting agility in October. There's literally NOTHING dog training wise near me, so my options are very limited. And I have a busy life, so even fitting in regular sessions on a weekend are hard... I like a week evening, but there is noooooothing, and everything there is is faaaaaar away. It takes me an hour to get home after work as it is, plus an hour to get back to somewhere to train.... It's just not realistic

Makes me REALLY REALLY wish I was able to set something up myself... But obviously I'm not dog trainer!!!!

Billy had 20 some teeth pulled today, on top of the 16 he was already missing...

He has 5 teeth left.

I guess I'm going to the store to pick up a ton of wet food tonight. :P

Why do dogs have to roll in poop right after being nicely groomed? A nice, fresh, steaming pile of fox poo

Went to the dog park on a whim since it was a nice day. There is this giant red ball that Talon is somewhat obsessive about. It's been there a long time but he just now realized it was the most awesome-ness toy in the whole wide world! lol

Anywyas, I put the ball on the table after a while so he'd go play with other dogs, but then a BC mix came in, jumped on the table, and pushed the ball off. That dog was NOT happy when Talon went "OMG the ball yay!" and flew over to push it around with him. O_O

I didn't think it was possible after seeing Talon with that ball today, but I've found a dog that is more obsessed with that ball than Talon. Of course the owner just threw the ball for the dog, even though that dog was so far obsessed with the ball to the point of guarding it from everything (dog or it's owner). I called talon to play with a tennis ball instead, which other than a few glances at the red ball he did happily.

Yay for a not having an overly obsessed border collie!
