There's an aussie/BC cross on my local craigslist right now that's really tugging at me. She's 12 weeks, and she's too cute for words.

I absolutely 100% do not want another dog right now... but the minpin we found went home to her owners and now I'm like PUPPY.

No. No puppy. :[

There was a post on the BC boards recently about an owner being concerned about a dog's movement and the vets said it was fine. Specialist said it was fine but they took x-rays and he's got HD.

I don't know... I think gut instincts are worth checking out. I wish I'd acted on my suspicions with Mia earlier.
Yeah, I think we are going to have to get the x-rays sooner than later. :/

I just have two problems now.
1. I don't want to do it at my regular vets, but I have a hard time finding a good vet here. hm....
2. I'm not sure which part I should x-ray. I want to do the minimum number of x-rays to get a good answer, but I'm not sure which part of his hind end is the potential problem. I was thinking hips, but.....maybe not. I'm just not sure which would be best to start with. Argh.

Watson has had a few periods of limping which we thought was Lyme, but I'm not sure. Now every time he holds up a foot, or seems tender with it, I worry. Our handling instructor also noticed that he was trotting wide in front, which he didn't do previously. I'm not sure there's anything I can do about it right now and he will have his hips and elbows checked in 6 months, but it's so frustrating, especially when it's so subtle.
It really is frustrating, especially when you have to wait so long to find an answer. I hope it turns out to be nothing for Watson.

Do you know how one would go about finding a sports vet? I feel like that might be my best bet to find someone who can really evaluate him well, but I'm unsure how to start looking.

I'd ask a competitive trainer. I find mine through my current agility trainer. She has one about 50 mins away that isn't sports vet per say but does a lot of PT type work and alternative stuff. She also has a vet a few hours away that is a sports vet. Also put me in contact with our chiropractor.

Abrams just lifted his leg for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!

(It was because he was trying to pee in the woods and a stick was poking him in the thigh so he cocked his leg up to stop the stick from poking him...but it counts!)

I found a vet online that looked perfect, was getting ready to call them when I realized their address was in North Carolina! *cries*

I just got back home from a fantastic vacation, and definitely did not want to come home, but words cannot describe how much I missed my little furry black sidekick and how happy I am to see her again. I missed all four of my dogs and am very happy to have them all back, but this little dog is something else. She too apparently had a great vacation with a friend's dad. But we're both happy to be home to our regular night time cuddle routine lol.
