Friend of mine, and a member here (uh... She has Angel and Lucy) has had really good luck yogurt. Angel had really bad, incredibly frequent gas, and I believe its all but gone now. The few times she does fart, its once or twice, and it doesn't smell nearly as bad, from what I understand.

Really??? I might seriously have to try this. In fact, I'm getting some tomorrow. It's really bad. We have tried grain inclusive food, grain free, different protein sources, different brands... Seems whatever food he is on he has super nasty farts and he also farts a lot. Hopefully yogurt will help out.

So proud of my little Bloo dog. As I've mentioned, she isn't compatible with cats. One of our cats happens to think she is the spawn of Satan and actively tries to pick fights, even under doors (hooray two door rule!). I just walked Bloo out through the house on lead for her last potty of the night and, of course, the cat was sitting at the end of the hall, looking to pick a fight. I shoo'd her off and Bloo made no attempt to go after her, no pulling on the leash to walk by her, nothing.

She's come a really long way. I'll never trust her loose with them, but it gives me peace of mind should someone not close a door.

Finally got Roxie to play some tug with me. It was pretty intense, lol. Went on for a whole 20 minutes, so that gives me a lot of hope that she's pulling out of her sulking.

Previously, if she could bother to get up and play, she would just fetch it twice and if I tried to tug with her, she would hold it loosely and one short tug would have it sliding through her teeth.

Plus, she's actually on the couch with me right now. For the past two weeks, she had been just off in her bed in the game room, even if I was downstairs...

I know this whole "everyone aside from you and me is moving to the other house till we sell this one" thing has been tough on her, but I finally feel like I've got my shadow back. Definately something I need right now.

Progress Not bad at all.

Yeah, I would never do that, but at the same time, whenever I mention that I'm contacting breeders for months and months (and possibly a year or more) from now, and how many I've contacted, and this and that related to the process...most people's eyes tend to glaze over and I can tell they're thinking "just adopt get a cheap, easy one." Even my friends who know better sometimes get sucked in when we drive by signs that say "Mastiff puppies, AKC registered, $200." Doesn't help that there are pet stores all over this city

It took at least a week or two post-puppies being born to find out I wasn't getting one and had to start over. It definitely taught me to talk to multiple breeders and not put all of my eggs in one basket.

Glad you got a response! I hope it works out! I can't wait to find out what breed you went with after your "what breed for me" thread a few months ago.
That's terrible! See, I understand not wanting to email bad news, but...it's still gonna happen anyway, so they might as well just do it! It's not like you wouldn't realize in the end that you hadn't gotten a dog And with the initial breeder emails, more than once I've thought "just send an 'I'm busy but I've received your email and will get to it when I can'" message. Anything's better than silence, just let me know that you actually got what I sent you!

And thanks, I'm super excited...I still keep waffling on breeds (there are a couple gorgeous examples of other breeds I was looking at, walking around near where I work, and they always make me turn my head to look at them, and reconsider...). But ultimately I think I'll be happy in my decision, if this works out.

Yay! Gavroche can't be around cats either, but twice now he's gotten into the room with my parents' cats, and both times he came running out screaming. Last time he even peed a little lol.

same here ... deep down I believe that I will end up with another ACD, but that doesn't keep me from looking at rotties or GSDs and going "hmmm" lol

This morning I dropped a portion of Cohen's breakfast into her bowl and grabbed another portion to bring into our work/training room. She left the majority of what I'd dropped into her bowl to follow me into the other room looking to work with me. The Chihuahua got double breakfast.

R+ training: about more than just the food.

How much yogurt should I be giving Joey a day? He is about 50lbs. Trying to stop his terrible gas issue.
