Default What are you passionate about?

Above all, the thing I'm the most passionate about is, to me, the most important thing - the health, well being, and security of my family now and in the future.

I'm passionate about ethical animal training and handling. I'm passionate about animal nutrition, responsible ownership, and about what I consider to be proper vet care.

I'm passionate about sustainability, homesteading, ethical farming. I'm passionate about the maintaining the ability to own firearms.

I'm passionate about human rights, such as gay/trans marriage and acceptance, access to birth control, access to healthcare whether you can afford it or not, that sort of thing. Making help more readily available to those suffering from physical or mental issues is important to me.

I care very much about the state that public education is in. I believe there should be more emphasis on actual life skills - too many people are coming out of school with no idea how to do taxes, build credit, or get a loan. Nobody knows how to change a tire or the oil in their car.

What are you passionate about?

Things I tend to get fired up over:

1. Animal welfare. In particular the difference between animal welfare, and animal rights.

2. The current political climate. Not talking about Obama, but talking about the two party system and how much money is required to do anything. This really, really, bothers me.

3. Proper husbandry of any animal. This means medical treatment, proper housing, diet, exercise, etc., etc. With dogs, inappropriate training and having no understanding of their behavior really gets to me. As does a completely preventable disease/health issue ultimately being the death of the animal because the owner just didn't care enough to actually prevent said thing from happening and now doesn't want to spend the money to fix it.

4. Children. They can't speak up for themselves. We have to be their voice, and stand by them. And, kind of the same topic, but being a parent. Take the time to be there for your kids. Teach them things. Experience life with them. Don't be so alienated as to not be able to help them when they need it.

5. God. And being able to believe in God without being ridiculed as an idiot, or someone inferior.

I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are the main ones for me.

1. Proper care of geriatric animals (mental and physical).
2. I believe rescues should be about quality of placement. Not quantity of placements. (I am not saying "no returns ever" but I am saying evaluating dogs and potential homes well.)
3. Responsible breeding.

I'm sure there's more I'll think of, I'm just kind of brain dead today.

Spending time with the people I love. That is THE most important thing to me. I'm also passionate about music and books and photography and movies and art and positivity and happiness.

Mental health care. Seriously if more people received it or were made to the world would be such a better place. We need institutions again. Some of those homeless people will never function and work and keep a home! They need placed because they can not care for themselves! Say get a job all you want but they can't.

Other than that abuse of benefits. I see the drug tests of people every day. Saying one person failed in a whole state of random testing is a scam! We are creating entitled people who would spend more time finding a way to not work vs just working.

I was into politics for a while and both parties make me sick at this point.

1. Ethical breeding or rescue.

2. High quality nutrition. I don't know much about Equine or K9 nutrition, but I know that what most people feed is crap and that their pets don't do well on it. I'm learning more as I go along.

3. Mental health and conditioning of animals. Don't make your dog or horse do something it hates. Give them time to be animals and have fun with them and know them. Also, don't be a weekend warrior. If your dog isn't conditioned for a 5 mile hike, don't take them until they are.

4. I'm trying really hard to get in better shape and eat better. Trying to help my husband do the same, which is difficult.

5. Judgments. It's not fair to judge someone because they are different from you. Just because they have a different view or look different doesn't mean there is something wrong with them.

6. Equality would be something awesome. Also, decent education and healthcare for everyone?
