Yeah pointers come in lighter shades, gsp are mainly variations of liver, black and white.

I can't find anything on other colours, even unlikely but possible ones.

Usually there will be a blurb about them somewhere. Annoying!
"Dogs are our link to paradise. They do not know jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing wasn't boring, it was peace."

Bodhi is the opposite of ignorance, the insight into reality which destroys mental afflictions and brings peace.

Sorry, can't link on my phone.
I agree with this. Look for the oldest standard you can find. If its listed as a DQ color, then the color occurs naturally. For example in old lab/retriever standards yellow & liver have been DQ colors (also brindle & B&T) because they existed in the breed. Silver was never mentioned in lab/retriever standards because it was not in the breed.
Unfortunately most breeds recently standardized don't give those clues, for example the ukc plott standard doesn't mention buckskin & neither it nor the AKC standard mention merle.
