Oh no, I'm so sorry you and Smudge are going through this . I really admire him.

The only issue I have experience with is Progressive Retinal Atrophy, but that presents very differently. I have definitely gone through almost a 'grieving' stage for Romeo's vision and it upsets me a lot.

Keep us updated! I hope they figure out what's going on .

He turns 6 on Sunday So I'm super stressed that he may be losing his vision at such a young age.. My babies are getting older and I want it to stop

I hope to hear good news from the vet tomorrow.. I have fingers and toes crossed. While you shouldn't have a favourite.. I so have a favourite and it's Smudge....

Our Collie Sierra has this, along with CEA, her eyes look normal, she has cataracts in each eye too, which are also not visible to the naked eye. She has very limited vision but has learned to live with it over the years. Our ophthalmology believes it is something our girl has had since birth ( she's a rescue)

I can't help you very much with your current problem, I don't know much about it. But I can relate on a related issue, with my Maddie.

She is totally blind in the right eye due to a dog fight that caused the eye to come out of its socket. They vets were able to get the eye back in, but she is blind in that eye. I thought it was the worst thing that could ever happen, and I continued to have nightmares not only of the attack, but also of her losing sight in her good eye as well
Then I fostered Tara, who was totally blind. I truly believe she was sent to me to ease some of my anxiety, as she was so happy and well adapted, I can't even explain it.

The vet told me that Maddie's peripheral vision would definitely be effected, and she may have problems with things like stairs, catching a toy or treat in the air, no more playing around with agility, etc.
I am happy to report that even though she is for sure 100% blind in that eye, she has proven the vet wrong on all accounts, and continues to thrive and do well. I worry about her other eye, of course, especially now that she's going to be 11 but we're okay

(((((Hugs))))) poor Moo! i sure can relate. I hope its nothing serious! but if it is, it will be okay. <3 Give him a smooch and a cookie from me Message me if you need anything!

Thank you Brattina

He's my baby. I love them all but he's my puppy... And being possibly partially blind at 6 makes me want to cry... He's all happy and wiggly and himself. It's my freaked outness totally.. not his. He'll still be my baby.. but the brokeness has me all spastic.

Also has me upset that it might have been more stoppable depending wtf it is if I'd taken him in on day one, not day 3..

It's nice to know even if he does lose vision he'll likely be okay... Thank you hunny

And the diagnosis appears to be quick forming cataract :/

Opthamologist suggested cataract via diabetes. I did a BGT at home, and he's normal. Vet has suggested cataracts may form quicker than people realize.. most dog owners don't look at their dogs I guess the way I do mine.. I noticed the 3 days pre vet visit his eye was 'off'..

Not sure how I feel about this as his vision won't be coming back.. thankful nothing else seems to be wrong....

I am glad he is okay... Sorry about his sight, but I am pretty sure he will just take it in stride

Just love him and squish him lots!
