Default I have always said that noisiness doesn't bother me

Then this Saturday I met a frustrated Walker hound.

Holy cow, I need to re-evaluate that statement. I likened him to sounding like a bellowing elephant seal. It was the loudest, most constant noise I have ever heard out of a dog. I think what was so incredible was how his baying seemed to penetrate everything. It did not sound like a dog. Do all coonhounds sound like this?

Yes. Hounds are loud.

...only when they want to. And even a frustrated Liz is pretty quiet.

Rage is loud. Daisy has the capacity to be loud but almost never is.

They can be. Emma was only ever loud for a reason (ie hunting or the door bell ringing)

Mind you watching a beagle running as fast as they can, throwing up their head to howl as loud as they can, and then them falling over because their front feet left the ground to how is priceless

However when the hound teaches the Doberman to bay like a hound, its not good. Dobermans can not bay it comes out as a half howl half I don't know what lol

This is something that must be captured on video.

A friend had beagles in agility, and I swear, they looked like they went backwards briefly whenever they bayed at her while running the course. Super cute!

Yes, I had hounds as a kid. They need to sound like that so hunters can track them easily when out on hunts.

Noise doesn't bother me.

It's been my experience that Huskies/Malamutes are quite noisy as well. Kobe chatters away at me all night long. I turn him the deaf ear.

Default The good ones all do, lol

My current pack of 4 dachshunds will make your brain curdle when in full cry. My brother runs B&T coonies and you can hear them bay on a hot track for over 5 miles!
