Yet another update for Finn...
A behaviorist saw him last night and pretty much determined that he is gun shy, has no drive for birds, and is extremely unstable in temperament. In addition, swimming is out of the question for his chronic ear infections and he will have to receive medication weekly, if not daily for his ears as well as Xanax for his behavior issues. He cannot live comfortably in a home where strange people (people he does not live with) come and go often, and should not be taken outside the home unless completely necessary.
Completely opposite of what we were told about him, and at this time, we do not feel our home is a good place for him to thrive. However, he has found a new home with the lady who took him to treat him. Apparently both of her kids are smitten with him, and he has blended into their household and effortlessly.
This will be the end of the Wirehaired Pointing Griffons for us. As we meet more Griffons, we do not feel they were quite what we were expecting. This is not solely because of Finn; they just do not have quite the drive we were expecting. So, back to the Vizsla for us, and Josh will just have to retrieve his own d*** birds in the dead of winter.
