That's a possibility too. Instead of a soc degree, you could potentially get a psych degree. I know I had to take soc classes towards my psych degree so maybe you would be able to transfer a lot of the credits.

Could you take classes to finish that degree online? I know a lot of colleges offer online classes. Then you wouldn't have to actually set foot on the campus, haha. I did about half of both my AA and my BA online! And again, even if it's just a few classes each semester, it's that much closer. There's no rule that says you HAVE to do classes full-time! You can just take one or two at a time and start chipping away. Just make sure you've got a good calendar and keep track of everything, and you should be okay.

I work in Human Resources right now and I got into it with a BS in Psychology. I started out at the bottom working part time as an HR Assistant which quickly turned into a full time position. I'm now an HR Generalist three years later. I recommend at least getting a bachelors degree because you will be able get your PHR certification sooner. Let me know if you have any questions about the field.

If you don't mind getting out of the pet industry, I would check out banks/credit unions. I have several friends who work in that industry, and I hear all good things. Good pay, good benefits, good hours, a very clear promotional "track". Depending on which bank/CU it is, many pay commission and bonuses for performance.

However, you would still be dealing with customers/clients on a daily basis, and all the wonderful craziness that goes along with that.
