So I am thinking about getting health insurance for the pup, mainly because its going to be huge and if there is an emergency the vet is going to cost a small fortune and I am always worried about bloat and things like that when it comes to a mastiff.
So what are some good companies I should look into or stay away from, remember I am in Canada so I do not know if pet insurance companies are by country or not. Do you think getting pet insurance is worth it?? Thanks friends

Ha, well. We have put it off, and put it off, and put it off.
Now we need a scan that will cost us approx £1200 ($1800) ![]() We decided to get them insured, just too late I think it's worth it if you can afford it. Costing us £40/month for 2 dogs.

Frodo and Siri will be insured through trupanion in the next month or so here. Hopefully we will never need to use it, but I feel more secure having it, just in case.
It's a plan that is emergency/big stuff only, doesn't cover routine vet bills and we will still have a $500 deductible, etc. But I absolutely think it will be worth it, especially because it will be less than a hundred bucks a month to insure them.

My three are insured through Embrace. Pet's Best was a close second.

I heart Trupanion. I don't have any pets insured but deal with them a lot because of client's insured pets. They don't debate charges, they cover a lot and are really easy to deal with. They get my recommendation every time.

I'll probably be insuring with Embrace for futurepuppy. I really like the level of customization for their policies, and their prices are very affordable for one dog while still being well covered.
