Attention: Whippet People!

I never really gave them much notice until a few months ago, and I find myself quite interested in them now. What are they like to live with, as sport dogs, as general active companions, etc? Drive, trainability? I want to hear all about them!

No personal "owning" experience, but from friends and people I've trained with, out of all the sighthounds they're one of the more trainable varieties, have had a couple in agility classes, and seen more than a few competing. They can be very drivy and motivated but LOVE their spot on the sofa, VERY cuddly, I have a friend with two that don't bother their cat housemate.
