Default Opinions. Am I blood thirsty?

Last night someone broke into our house. The alarm went off and Paul dashed downstairs to find him rifling through the kitchen drawers looking for a knife (we have some BIG knives). Paul chased him and he took off with my handbag (containing everything I own) and Pauls Nikon SLR.

I found out that the police shot and killed him about 20 minutes after he fled our property.

I personally think he got what he deserved. He had broken into quite a few houses down the road.

Another forum I'm on is having a kinipshin because I am not beside myself and crying because this gross human being has been removed.

I'm not "happy" he is dead but I can't say I'm sad or feel bad for him.

I'm very glad Paul didn't get near him. He would have ended up hurt or in trouble.

If he was looking for a knife, I hate to think what he was planning to do to you and Paul if you hadn't woken up. *shudders* Makes me wonder what he did to the police that made them feel threatened enough to kill him.

EDIT: I voted that he got what he deserved, though that's not quite how I'd word it.. More like, he knowingly put himself in that position for no reason than to get gain by harming and threatening others. Most criminals understand the risks of their lifestyle.

ETAETA: And I'm REALLY glad you guys are safe. That must be so terrifying to have happen.

Thanks Romy. It was scary, mainly because Paul was hell bent on going after the guy!

The dogs and I were sitting upstairs in the middle of the bed. LOL

No, I wouldn't feel bad at all for him. I'd be relieved to know he's taken care of and not still out there. That is SCARY stuff!

This this this this

Oy, if this guy had come to my house he would more than likely be dead before he had a chance to walk out the door. Josh keeps a shotgun close by and I have my bersa .380 always within reach at night.

It scares me SO much that he was rumbling through knives.... Really hate to think about what could have happened if you both hadn't woken up. (((Hugs)))

Come into my house at night it's not the cops that are shooting you!

And no, you should not feel bad one bit. Someone that very likely was out to do you harm was in your home. I don't question that. All life is sacred blah blah. But mine wins over theirs. Sorry. I don't do drugs, steal, etc etc etc. I'm in my home.

There are people in this world who will kill you without a second thought. It's just the sad truth.

Yep. It was not fun.

According to many on the other board I'm evil for not being upset that he is dead.

I've even been asked to provide links to the news story (there isn't one) under threat of banning.

I provided the police case number.
