The apartment is cute!

Sally had a very hard time adjusting when we moved to our house from an apartment. NILIF was actually one thing that we did that seemed to work well for her.

How did NILF help? Seren isn't being bad at all. She isn't behaving badly just is stressed, particularly at night. She is behaving better than ever, listening well, being polite with Dekka.

I would worry less about training and more about using a DAP and some behavior adjustment work. Lots of fun and treats in the apt, give it time and walk that careful line between supportive fun and not coddling and increasing concern.

Mine REALLY benefitted from a super strict schedule for a bit. It helped reset their axis' after the rather drastic move, new state, new climate, from a house, training sessions regularly, a pool, and almost always someone being home to an apartment with both adults working full time, walks on leash, and no training clubs to release that pent up frustration.

We got strict with our schedule and strict with some behavioral rules but looser with others. Like the dogs were all sleeping with us, it was a comfort, and they were getting a ton more treats. We treated almost every single time they went in their crates which isn't needed but I think it added some comfort. We added in longer walks and more individual attention where ever we could. Also we did a ton of work to eat style toys and stuffed kongs. The more the dogs were busy with their minds the less they seemed able to think and stress, ime. I started stuffing their kibbles into water bottles and taped shut cardboard boxes and making them break them open for their food. That may not be a good suggestion for a dog who eats plastic or cardboard though, mine just rip them up and spit it out.

Just remember, imo, it's scary for the dogs as well and it will take time and patience. I wouldn't expect any dog to take to a move from a farm to an apartment without some stress, whether it is shown actively or not.

Sally likes structure and predictability, and the structure of NILIF seems to help her. She was behaving badly either, just generally anxious and NILIF can help anxious dogs in some cases. Having to "work" for things seemed to make her focus on something other than the anxiety.
