Nah, I got that, I knew you meant it in a good way

I'm so glad everything went well! I would try a pop-up crate, personally. Just a cheapie. You should be able to leave him in a stay with a vest on, and I'm sure he would be fine, but you can't count on people not to freak out.
He'd hold his down-stay fine, I'm just worried about people interfering with him while I'm naked and can't see my dog. It's pretty empty when I go, but not completely empty.

When in the shower, what about looping the leash end around your ankle and having him lie right outside the curtain? Or is there a pesky door?

Or just get him one of those umbrella hat thingies.

I can (and had planned to) loop the leash around my ankle (I'd take a nylon one so as not to mess up his nice leather one ), but I still worry about other people interfering, because I still wouldn't be able to see him. For that reason I'm more likely to get one of those cheapo popup crates.

I do worry that if I took him IN the shower, he'd know that gym=wet and not want to go :/

So, I tried the poncho thing today because I decided on the way to the gym I wanted to shower there and there was a poncho in mt trunk.

IT FREAKING WORKED. I'm not quite sure how we managed to pull it off, but it worked, and it worked very well! Logan stayed completely dry, though he was pretty sad about wearing a poncho and getting in the shower. I just wrote up a longish post in my blog if you're interested, but I'm about to head for bed nwo and don't want to type it all out again http://theeclecticcollie.blogspot.co...heres-way.html

Anyway, I will be trying other methods, because despite staying dry, Logan wasn't thrilled with the situation (but he held his sit-stay and did not complain, SO proud of him! <3). I don't want to make it a bad experience for him over and over, so I'm leaning towards the popup crate.

Here he is working hard at the elliptical lol

I'm still trying to get a feel for where to put the mat. He has a good sense of how far away from the machine he needs to be to not get hit with anything, so he's in the right spot. I just need to place the met better.

I also need a longer leash, which is pretty obvious here. I wasn't going to use the halti, but it gave me a couple extra feet of leash, and it still wasn't as long as I'd like.
