Default Post-Moving

Do you ever miss the place you moved from, even if there were things you disliked about it? I'm really missing the West today; the mountains, mostly. I'm missing seeing them out the window, the fantastic weather, the great hikes and gorgeous drives.

I'm also missing the missed opportunities I turned down, such as being a wrangler for a dude ranch, which is one of my dream jobs, and is on my bucket list.

I feel like we got rushed to move back because of the health state that Josh's grandma is in. I love most of MI, but I love the West more.

/Meagan pity party. Cookies if you read this and aren't ready to slap me.

What kind of cookies?

I grew up in Buena Vista and when I moved for college (all of four hours away lol) I missed it like crazy. Actually I still miss it and I haven't lived there in almost 9 years. I wouldn't/can't move back but every time I visit I want to.

I love California, I really do, but when I look at our wall of photos & ribbons from events that all took place in the Midwest (and do, every year), I get soooo sad that I may never make it to those events again. Because I know my fiancé will never leave California. Lol

I miss things about every place I've lived, tbh. If I move again, I'm sure I'll miss things about my current location too...

There are loads of things I miss about Rhode Island. My friends, THE OCEAN... god I miss the ocean, the awesomeness, the indian summer, the smell of the ocean, the ocean, the hot summers, the crap load of snow that the sky would dump on us... oh and have I mentioned the ocean. I miss Rhode Island gosh dangit. Even though we hightailed it of the USA before everything went southwards, and I know it was for the best... I still love Rhode Island or New England in particular.

I miss my parent's town, because it's small and green and cute.

Right now I also miss my old part of town. (yes. I still live in the same city. Do not judge) There are awesome cafés and I miss it. I also miss living by the river... not that I don't live in wine country now or anything...

I guess everywhere you go, every place you discover - there will always be one place that lays close to your heart and is "home". To me? Thats Rhode Island. Rhode Island is home. My friends and my family are here, my life is here and I much prefer Europe - but Rhode Island is just... home. When the plane touches down my heart soars, and you just feel inplace. So I totally know how you feel

I miss my hometown. It's a crappy little town in the middle of nowhere.

But I miss it. The cows, fields, not locking your cars and doors. I miss that small town feeling. But not the drama.

I would think most people miss SOMETHING about a place they lived.

I'll be moving soon and, although I'm excited about moving, I am going to miss this place a lot. Being in a house for one. I hate apartments. I'm loud and have a dog.

The mountains are gorgeous, though.

I miss my best friend and my work. Otherwise I love it here. My job here isn't horrible but the commute sucks and progress is slow growing. My friend has plans to move to England and then Florida anyways so that helps my sad.

YES.

I moved from Santa Barbara to Maryland chasing a boy and going to college. Met a new (Marylander) boy, and am now stuck in the DC metro for probably forever. I have seasonal depression, and literally want to cry when I walk outside in the winter and feel the 14* temperatures

I miss the nice weather, the laid back people, the lack of traffic, the beach, the outdoor activities...I miss a lot. But there are no jobs there. We have no future there. So we bought a house here and will make it work here.

I suppose I'm the weird one here.

I don't miss Memphis/Southaven, at all. I sort of dread going back every year, but since that is where family is, I don't have much of a choice.

I don't think I'll miss Great Falls, either. It was an okay place, but not somewhere I'd miss or want to come back to.

I guess I just haven't found "home" yet.
