Default My introduction -- and need some help!

Hey everyone, I just recently got my puppy yesterday. She is a baby germanshepherd, only 8 weeks. I am having some problems with her though, she is an extremely frightened puppy. When we got other dogs they weren't like this. I've wrapped her up in a blanket, and she shivers, I have given her milk. When I go to give her food in her home (just for now today we are building her her dog house with running space) she will shiver up to the back of the cage. And she only eats when noone is there. When I hold her she shivers. I put her on a leash she won't move at all!

Please somebody help, I love my puppy and want her to be like a normal dog!

Welcome to the forum! German Shepherds are great dogs. Before us chazzers can jump on the task of helping you I have a couple questions for you
What was the living enviorment you got your puppy from? Kennel? Home? With other puppies? Without?

Since you just got her yesterday I wouldn't be too concerned. Lay off the leash for a while, and just let her get used to you. Love and play, and let her adjust, its always a big change from where they are used to. Don't give her too much milk either, or she'll get an upset stomach and runny stool.

Does she have a name yet?

Her name is Jasmine, we picked her up from a farm. It's sister was with it, in a barn that was open for them to run outside. The mother was in its own pen behind their kennel. Right now, she is in a small kennel in the garage, as we are building her a dog house and run way. If I let her free, she will run away, since yesterday at my grandfathers farm, we were in his shop and she got loose and hid from us under a table. I don't know if letting her loose is such a good idea right now.

Thanks!

Thank you everyone. We made her kennel today, but I am still having problems. During the day she will eat out of my hand. She will never walk though, she always is lying or sitting down. She shakes when you go near her, and her eyes are always so sad..I don't know what to do!

Since she is 8 weeks old, a trip to the vet for her first set of shots and a complete check-up is due and I would talk to the vet about the problems you are seeing...she may be sick..and that is why she's not eating right and acting so strange. Most 8 week old puppy's are full of energy and getting really curious about everything around them and it is usually hard to slow them down. I hope this helps and you call the vet today.

This one has its tail between its legs scared, maybe it is just the new environment since she is gone from her sister?
