Default The hardest thing ever...

I think that the hardest thing I have ever had to do (besides bury my grandfather, but it is a close second) is finding these puppies good enough homes.

I have dreams about them leaving. I turn down everyone who calls inquiring about them. I have grown sooo attached that I feel I am literally losing my mind.

They are each so special in their own little way.

I do beleive I am going to have my home full to the brim!

But I dont mind, cleaning poo and listening to the yapping, doesnt bother me, because I know if they leave, I will miss it. I am already missing it.

I have leash trained 2 of them now. They are doing wonderful. Next Friday after they get their shots, we are starting Canine Therapy training, I figure the younger the pup, the easier it will be to train. They are so smart. They have learned their names, the word "outside" and "come here".(and they swim!!!!!!!!!!)

I dont know, but like I said, this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But I thank GOD every minute that I had the opportunity to get to know these little angels. Nothing makes me happier then coming home in the evening, and watching them play outside and getting all my kisses and nips and all the little wiggle butts! NOTHING!

No, not a one!The quality of people either want to breed-IMMEDIATLY at 6 mo, some tell me after I get through wasting my breath,"Oh, lemmie ask my dad!", some do not want to sign a contract, most are "breeders" wanting to mix my dog w/ whatever they have(ie:AB, boxer, game line)

I have one sold to a great person in Ohio, he is leaving Friday the 14th. I am keeping 2 for sure. A friend lost his pitbull after 10 years to cancer and is taking one as a replacement, no kids, wife, just LIVES for his dogs(they even eat at the table w/ him!!!) That leaves 3.

I know how rough it is when it is time for them to go! It is great that you are taking so much care in finding them great homes. I keep in contact with every person that has purchased/adopted a pup from me. It helps so much to know that I will be involved in their lives.

Make sure you can handle 2 plus your other dogs if that is what you have decided to do. I thought I could keep 2 puppies from my last litter but by the time they were 4 months old I realized it really is hard training and taking care of just one, let alone 2. I found an awesome home for one of them but by then I was so attached I cried for days! I also realized that it was not fair for the pups. They need so much one on one attention when they are young.

Good for you on screening diligently.

I had sleepless nights while placing puppies. Worries about whether new homes would work out etc. Did okay, only had 1 I had to take back for violation of the terms of my contract.

You know about how to raise two puppies at the same time, right?

but they are my life
With everyone growing and leaving, I think I will be just fine.

What are you going to do when you breed again? Are you going to keep 2 more puppies from the next litter?

Im not breeding again. AND IF I ever changed my mind, it would be totally different circumstances, AND I am always prepared to keep them ALL, as I am this time. BUT, Id have to buy more property! WHICH by the way, is always an option.

Im not running a puppy mill. I am keeping the two that I have got to work on to make speacial. One has an over bite fromhell, the other is very "happy" weird, always looking around, nosey, never makes eye contac, scatting here and there, busy, non stop. Independant, etc. Krazy Daizy.

They both start training for therapy dogs next week. Im so excited. If Daizy changes and grws up some, becomes more stable, she may then go to a new home, not unitl I am comfortable with her leaving.
